Trace

Each street, every wall, each floor has the imprint of what went before: the scuff of shoes, the skateboard mark, the stain where someone leaned back on a wall. Thoughtlessly created, these accumulated traces build a portrait of place, a window into cultural difference at a level just below the specifics of a culture’s conceits. It is this level which holds significance, showing us all similarly abiding.
